Your skin is the largest organ in your body. It gets a lot of time out in the sun, in windy weather, cold weather, etc.
And just like your clothes, it gets worn out from time to time, peeling, cracking, drying up, and the like.
However, your skin stays, weathering everything like a champion, protecting you from harm, keeping your temperature regulated, blocking out impurities from your body.
But not without paying a price…
Your skin ages as you age.
You get wrinkles and skin markers like freckles and blemishes, scars, which is why you need to learn to take better care of your skin.
It’s not just what you put on it, it’s what you nourish it with that does the trick.
Here are 5 Tips for Smoother Skin:
Tip #1: Use sunblock
Every dermatologist worth their title will tell you that using sunblock every day is vital in keeping your skin looking younger, and feeling healthier.
Even if it’s cloudy outside, the shade doesn’t really block you out totally from the sun’s rays. Light bounces on surfaces so walking in the shade just means you’re getting less indirect sunlight.
Make sure you re-apply sunblock as needed throughout the day.
Tip #2: Wash with care
While it’s good to keep a good hygiene regimen, it’s not good to overdo it.
Opt for gentler soaps as the others could cause your skin to dry up because they’re too strong for your skin type.
Washing your hands too often will also cause dryness, even the temperature of your water. Heat causes your skin to dry, so wash with cooler water.
Tip #3: Moisturize
Moisturizing is vital in keeping your skin well-maintained. Again, it’s best to know your skin type (oily or dry), before you purchase a moisturizer.
Water based moisturizers work best for oily skin, while oil based works best on dry skin as it will stay on your skin longer.
Tip #4: Nourish
A good diet consisting of lean proteins, antioxidants (carrots, berries, tea), omega-3 fatty acids (fish, almonds), food rich in vitamins A, C, E, and minerals like zinc and magnesium (soy, kale).
What you put in your body will also show on the outside, which is why you need to take a closer look at the ingredients you ingest.
Tip #5: Hydrate
It’s important to keep a good diet, not just for your skin, but for your whole body, but what your skin needs the most is a lot of water.
Water helps your body to eliminate waste or toxins. The 8 to 10 glasses a day will help maintain the fluid level in your body.
Lastly, it is very important to avoid sugary and carbonated drinks. Choose healthy smoothies instead.
Try making a paleo zccihuni bread. The one I made uses 6 eggs and a 1/2 cup of coconut flour, along with other yummies. Its almost like eating a custard, it is so light and delicious!I am going to make these cupcakes for a going away party that I am throwing in a week. Yahoo!
